WHat we did with the shattered glass from our jewish wedding

Peter and I were married at my parent’s house on December 14th, 2020 via Zoom with the Rabbi and Peter’s daughters on Zoom and my son and parents in attendance. It was such a wonderfully intimate and special day. Since glass is my second life, I knew I wanted to do something special with the shattered wine glass that Peter stomped on at the end of our service. I put the shattered pieces in my kiln in the shape of a heart as you can see below. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but everything melted down and formed a really cool heart that looks like it’s growing from a tree trunk!

We then glued the glass onto a piece of spanish cedar and Peter wood burned and painted the background of the piece. We had a local framing company frame it up and now it hangs in our living room as a symbolic prayer to our faith and our marriage.

I would love to recreate something like this for another couple hoping to do something special with their shattered wedding glass. Contact me if you are interested!
